Hannah's Story

Someone once said chocolate is the best medicine. I have experienced this firsthand, and know for a fact that it is true. I was diagnosed with leukemia as a little girl and nothing made me feel better than making (and eating) a batch of delicious hot fudge with my Mom. During my battle, my mom, Karen, created a recipe for hot fudge that made me feel like I wasn’t sick. When she made it, and I took a bite, I felt better. The hot fudge was magic, it was medicine. Many friends and family who tasted the fudge said time and time again that we should sell it. I am eight years in remission and a happy, healthy teenager. I wanted to give back to the people and place that saved my life. As I thought about ways to give back, I recalled the conversations during my treatment about selling hot fudge, and I knew what to do. Today my mom and I make each batch of hot fudge from scratch, and give all proceeds to the Jimmy Fund Clinic at the Dana Farber Cancer Institute. Please enjoy this truly amazing hot fudge on ice cream or any other dessert! It changed my life, let it change yours!

    FAQs

    • How long does your stuff keep? How should I store it?

We encourage everybody to enjoy our hot fudge sauce as soon as possible after their purchase – we use absolutely no preservatives, so the sooner, the tastier! If you’re traveling or buying a gift ahead of time, the hot fudge sauce will be good for up to 2 months unopened. Once opened, it must be refrigerated and will last another 6-8 weeks in your refrigerator.

    • How do I heat the sauce?

Our favorite way to heat Hannah’s Homemade Hot Fudge Sauce is in a pan on the stovetop over very low heat. You can also heat it in the microwave, but we recommend doing it only a few seconds at a time so it doesn’t burn. And make sure to take off the cap!
